Hope for Veterans and Their Families

Who We Are

Strait Ministries - Hope for Veterans and their Families provides Christian support and spiritual help to our military, veterans and their families that are struggling with the effects of war, Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), readjustment, and the impact it has on them daily.  We help with how to get a grip on the PTS, to restore and firm up ones faith and hope in God.  This firm foundation strengthens us spiritually and allows us to grow deeper in our faith, in our love, and in our relationships.

Mission

Provide hope through Christian support and spiritual help to our military, veterans and their families which are struggling with the effects and impact of war and Post-Traumatic Stress, PTS.

Vision

To see a drop in divorce rates, a decrease in strained relations, a decrease in doubts of God’s Sovereignty, and a better handling of PTS as our military, veterans and their families’ faith in God is restored.

Values

We value sound Christian doctrine and upholding the Word of God as our ultimate authority.

We value the regular gathering of Christ’s followers whether it be within a local church or virtually.

We value families as a God-given unit for proper relationships to be modeled and for morals to be instilled.

We value the sacrifices that our military, veterans, and their families have made for us.

Beliefs

We have a Statement of Faith/Doctrinal Beliefs that we can provide for you if you would like to see it.

History

We are Richard and Karen Strait. We formed Strait Ministries - Hope for Veterans and their Families over ten years ago. We felt God's calling for us to help and minister to other veterans and their families that are dealing with the impact of war and Post-Traumatic Stress just as we have and continue to do. We help with the spiritual disconnect, moral and spiritual injury that is caused by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, PTSD.  We gave up nearly all we owned and set out to do this very important work that the Lord has called and prepared us to do.

Support Group Start-Ups

We will go step by step on how to start up a Faith - Based PTSD support group for families, friends, spouses, and significant others of veterans. A sample format, curriculum, resources, etc. are part of what is covered. Also covered is how to select facilitators, a facility, and promoting the group.

Facilitator training is also provided.  See the "Our Services" page for additional information.
